same here - the client worked early yesterday, then returned the error message when tried to log back in last night and today. running IE9 on Windows 7 PC. the classic client works, so am using that until the new one is fixed - hopefully soon!

...fixed - thank you SOL gods!
Two things you can always do that will ensure optimal behaviour with Flash is (1) check you have the latest version and (2) empty the Flash cache.

(1) Checking for latest Flash Version

Right click on the race chart, then on About, and you can see from the Adobe page that loads whether or not you need to download a more recent version.

(2) Emptying the Flash Cache

Right click on race screen, click on Global Settings (above the About option) and then on the LH side of the page that opens, under Settings Manager, click on the 6th option (Website Storage Settings) and in the window that opens, click on Delete all Sites.

Finally, AGage also recommended another Adobe page here with some steps to go through to check that your Flash is A-OK.

Hope this helps.

i did run the Beta ver. before but now i keep on getting.....Flex Error #1001: Digest mismatch with RSL http://www.sailonline.org/static/windy/ framework_3.5.0.12683.swf. Redeploy the matching RSL or relink your application with the matching library.

Do it today.
Careka The DevtDudes are working on it.. best is to do what is suggested in the Homepage Blog, i.e., log in via SOL Classic Client and then swap out the # at the end of the browser URL for ?beta=true

:-)

Is there any difference between using classic and beta client? I am still getting error messages on the beta one but wonder if it is worth trying the fixes as the classic one seems to work just as well?
whiss - there is a heap more functionality in the current SOL Client (former Beta).

Have you tried the routing via SOL Classic Client and then modifying the url? You can bookmark the url once you have changed it, so you don't have to do it everytime.

:-)
I received this error in the middle of the page and cannot connect :

Flex Error #1001: Digest mismatch with RSL http://www.sailonline.org/static/windy/ framework_3.5.0.12683.swf. Redeploy the matching RSL or relink your application with the matching library.

Have joined the "Error #1001 RSL 3 of 3" club, but only with the Chrome browser. No problem with accessing the race using Firefox. And no problem accessing sailonline.org with Chrome, as long as I don't try to go to a race.

Updated Flash and cleared cache in Chrome, but problem persists. Figure an uninstall and reinstall of Chrome is next.

Any other thoughts?
FWIW: I can open SOL Wx Inspector in Chrome and see the chart no problem.

Africa by Sea - Tangier to Abidjan

Whatever about pharaoh Necho II’s Phoenician expedition of the 7th C BCE, the Carthaginian Hanno the Navigator with more certainty sailed south from Tangier to explore the West African coast two centuries later, but how far he got is a matter of more conjecture. However, if he did the 2300nm to today’s Ivory Coast he would have found little there other than good shelter in the vast lagoons behind the dunes, much the same as today, excepting the highly industrialized port of Abidjan. Not a great haven for a stop-over but let’s take the 90ft Monohull anyway.

Azores Challenge 2025

Another almost forgotten race at SOL. For only the second time we will sail the Jester Azores Challenge route from 2016.
What is the Jester Challenge?
Every two years a group of singlehanded sailors heads for Plymouth to sail the Atlantic. The Jester Challenge is not a race in any way, shape or form, simply an opportunity for skippers to test their boats and their seagoing mettle in a supportive and non-competitive environment. Skippers can make stopovers in other ports or harbours if they so desire, and there is no stigma attached to retiring from the event. Each sailor takes full responsibility for him or herself, their boat and the equipment they carry. There are no entry fees and virtually no rules, although there are guidelines.
Our rules are a bit different and we have a 60ft trimaran at our disposal and we have 1200nm to cover. Let's see what our yachts and their skippers can do. We wonder what you will take on board?

Melbourne Osaka Cup Double-Handed Yacht Race 2025

Welcome once again to what these days is Sailonline’s almost annual virtual Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. In real life, this double-handed 5500 nm race between these two sister cities, one deep in the southern hemisphere, the other high in the northern hemisphere, is run every four to five years, and this year is such a year. So, this year’s online version is in sync with the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2025 organised by the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV), and the Sandringham (SYC) and Osaka Hokko (OHYC) yacht clubs. We’ll be racing the well-known First 40, a popular size of boat which should be a good match for many of the boats entered in the real race. With the doldrums unavoidably lying across our course, you can expect to be at virtual sea for at least a month!
