	Sailonline will be again buddying with Royal Akarana Yacht Club for this race next week. 	I've never really bothered to think about how our polar compares to the real boats, but in this case I think VO70 (or open 60, or IMOCA 60) is a little too fast. There are mostly boats of 35-45ft on the entry list. There is a first 44.7 on both lists There is a farr 11.6 aka farr 38 on both lists I think swan 36 might be a match too (little slow maybe), and there's more on the entry list that are probably more similar (than VO70/open60/IMOCA60) to the real boats in the SOL boat house --- Last Edited by kroppyer at 2013-11-14 17:14:38 ---

	I've corrected the link to our list of boats. I was going to go with a Farr 38 The First 44.7 hasn't been used much and has a useful polar. Looking at the Calendar we have the VO70 in the Christmas Ocean race. --- Last Edited by RainbowChaser at 2013-11-14 17:52:57 ---

	Agree with Kroppy, nice to have average boat of the fleet not the fastest one. Would add FinnGulf FG43.

	Big & fast boats are always fun, but I'd vote for kropp's idea; a not that big nor fast boat: Swan 36, X35 OD or, new this summer, 11 metre OD.

	well we've got a First 44.7 and a VO70 in our boathouse. There's 1 of each in the race IRL. I'd say one of those 2

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024

After a superlong RTW-leg3 (27 days), we have had a month to recover, and maintain our boat, in order to continue our around the world race. Leg 4, even longer than the previous, takes us from California to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia. No waypoints, even "the Ditch" is an option, but maybe a bit too much of a treat. With 6300 nm to go, the estimated duration of this race 29 days. This course is also the August edition of our ocean race championship.
