Board » General Discussion » Converting a QtVLM route to brainaid DCs

Page: 1 2 3 4 5 Next

Hi all

Thanks to Sebensa I made this last night:
http://sol.kroppyer.nl/qtvlm2dc/

You upload the csv file you can export from QtVLM (menu: Routes->edit route->[your route], then tab:Route details. Adjust settings and click export). It converts it into a set of twa commands and a set of cc commands. You can edit them and copy them to brainaids dc editor.

Don't blindly follow your router! The option to edit the DCs is not for nothing, use it.

If you find any errors, let me know.

Thanks for your effort Krop.
It works 100% as far as I am concerned, what a time saver & no finger trouble anymore..

Thanks kroppyer. It works nicely. BBQ lesson over night so as you say, engage brain at all times, specially when close to coasts possibly because SOL chart is not same as QtVlm chart.
After three days of trial, I am liking what I am seeing. Many thanks.

The export files from the new QtVLM version (5) miss a TWS collumn, causing most other columns to shift to the left. If you use QtVLM v5, use this link (and double check the results):

Hi Kroppyer!

After some time SOTPing, I'm using QTVLM again; but when I export the route csv and then import it in qtvlm route converter I get this message:

ERROR: Time conversion failed, trying to continue. DCs could be wrong.

The tool returns me a list of DC dated 1970!!!

The error message appears after loading csv and pressing "convert to brainaid" button...

Some time ago I was using it correctly... the only difference is a qtvlm update about 1 month ago,,,

Thank you in advance for the help and...
Happy 2016!!
Can you send me the csv file you are uploading? Via the forum or via e-mail (huib <at> this website) is fine.

The dates in the file are in, I think, Italian or Spannish: 29 dic 2015 13:36. After a search and replace "dic" -> "dec" it works again.

I am not sure what language settings you would need to change in order to save the dates in english, and possibly you don't want to change that setting at all.

I might add some kind of language/translation setting in the converter.

ok, I'll search in the configuration of qtvlm if there's something to change... otherwise I'll try to substitute dic with dec. I'll tell you the result...
for now, thank you again.
ciao!

Halifax to Hooper Bay 2024

And now it’s Autumn in the Arctic, the sun is permanently below the horizon, but during the day, from c 0900 to c 1700 local time, there is some twilight – nautical twilight, not to be confused with civil twilight which is brighter. Having receded all summer, ice is starting to return to the numerous straits and bays of Canada’s North West Passage. High time then to set off on our last leg of the High Latitudes Series from Halifax in Nova Scotia to Alaska’s Hooper Bay. It’s 3850nm and we need to hurry, so we’ll take the Pelagic 77!
