Board » General Discussion » Converting a QtVLM route to brainaid DCs

Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 Next

it works!
I've substituted dic with dec and it works!
last month worked because nov is equal in italian and in english!
:-)

thank you for your invaluable help! have a best new year!
Great! Good 2016 to you too :)
I tried according to Schakels procedure, and all seemed to go well until I tried to start GPS in Qt - I get "Error" unspecified.
In NavMonPc, on the "Virtual Ports A,B,C" tab, for each port there's a Monitor button just below the Connect/Disconnect buttons. Click on the Monitor button of your COM port to check and see if thge NMEA data is being output.

Also, as I recall, NavMonPc's AIS proximity alert tends to wreck havoc on QtVlm. The alert usually gets activated just after start up. Click on AIS in the menubar and if there's an alert active, there'll will be a bunch of yellow boxes near the page bottom. Click on Ignore Target to cancel the alarm.

Not much else I can think of, I'm afraid.

Good luck,
Philip
Hi,
Error is Error while opening port COM3.
I'e tested com2/com3 as well as com10/com11 - same thing.
Dials are working.
And monitor shows data streaming.
BWR is even quircier, but maybe I'll restart computer after uninstall and try again.
Would be nice, but I'll get along with downloaded route into Brainaids DC editor manually.
Thanks.
sorry, could sol be the problem - I'm svein:-)?
no can't be proxy is mine:-(
Not sure what you mean with 'quircer'? Does that mean BWR is working? If it is, you have to use a different COM port for QtVlm. Both can't be using the same COM port.
<del>One more thing I just remembered: in QtVlm, under File -> Configuration, there's a GPS tab. On it is a COM port entry field and an 'Activate' checkbox. This tab is intended for output of GPS data, not for receiving GPS data. Not sure if it makes any difference, but just make sure the Activate checkbox is unchecked. Just might be creating a feedback loop.</del>

Never mind, doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024

After a superlong RTW-leg3 (27 days), we have had a month to recover, and maintain our boat, in order to continue our around the world race. Leg 4, even longer than the previous, takes us from California to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia. No waypoints, even "the Ditch" is an option, but maybe a bit too much of a treat. With 6300 nm to go, the estimated duration of this race 29 days. This course is also the August edition of our ocean race championship.
