	Regarding the converter on sol.kroppyer.nl: 1) I have updated the autodetection for columns. It should now automatically detect the COG (T) column instead of defaulting to the 8th column. 2) The default is still to use AWA for the sign of TWA. The recent example csv file I have shows negative AWA values where TWA values are positive, leading me to believe that the TWA values still do not distinguish between port and starboard tack while AWA values do. --- Last Edited by kroppyer at 2019-05-07 11:47:48 ---

	I have an intermittent issue where exporting a route to CSV fails when the export file already exists. qT ends up deleting the file and not recreating the new one. What I think is going on is that there is a timing issue between the file deletion and file creation routines where the creation happens before the deletion is complete. The net result is that there is no file for qT to write to and the export fails. When this happens, no export file exists. It has just been deleted. I cannot find a way to reliable reproduce the error, it is random and probably OS related. A suggest fix is when the write error is detected in qT, check to see if the output file exists, and if not, try and create it again. If that succeeds, try and export again. If it fails again, then give up. Cheers Andrew

	When that happens to me, I simply just give my exported file a new name. Just like you do every first export in a new race. This small issue happens to all in this process from time to time. No big deal, I think. --- Last Edited by Bimmer at 2019-06-21 03:26:58 ---

SOL's Bermuda Triangle TIMED Race 2023
Inspired by the America’s Cup racing in Bermuda, this is a fun triangular course of 90nm, which we originally raced with psail and bonkhoot’s collaborative polar for the AC72 foiling catamaran. Having tried the course in the more pedestrian Open 60 in 2021, this year we return to the AC72, in fact to the MODIFIED AC72v2, modified to remove the inconsistencies that obtained from the original interpolation of the limited data issued by the AC 2003 Principal Race Officer in connection with penalties determination. This is a TIMED race, which means you get multiple chances to try out the ramifications of the revisions. Be careful though, the polar remains a handling challenge with major stall-out potential!

Christmas to Christmas Island 2023
Two waypoints, start and finish, and between them 5827 NM of two oceans. Not much time if we want to sit at the Christmas Eve table. You will need to maintain an average speed of over 10 knots, so prepare your Volvo70s well and choose the best of the many possible routes. Hands up everyone who knew there were TWO Christmas Islands?! OK, maybe you have sailed this Sailonline course before... but it's time to get ready for the 2023 challenge of racing between Christmas Island in the Pacific to Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean! It also marks the conclusion of our prestigious Ocean Race Championship 2023. Please have fun! Fair winds!
