I'd thought I'd report these that I found doing some NMEA testing. 1. Closing an NMEA TCP connection server port (closing the port or shutting down the programme providing the NMEA feed) while GPS is connected, causes Qt to crash. 2.If NMEA sentence $GPWPL is received for a waypoint that already exists, that waypoint jumps to the top left corner until a screen refresh is invoced. Each time the following sentance is received, the waypoint "Cadiz Offshore" will jump to the top left of the screen from it's proper location $GPWPL,3636.000,N,00629.000,W,Cadiz Offshore*0D 3. The Display Raw NMEA Data window, when activated, will obscure some of the other popup windows, and lock up Qt completely.To reproduce do the following. i. Enable Display Raw NMEA data and start GPS ii. Click on boat icon to bring up Position, Speed and Heading etc iii. Click on Position, if not already displayed. iv. Click on ? Qt will now be locked. The is now no way to move the NMEA Raw Data window and get to the popup behind it.

	Viva all. With the new version the previous defined barriers exist (in the "barriers" menu) but they all lost their previous association with my boat. Also, it's not possible to create a new "barrier" and associate with any boat!? Bug or misconfiguration? Sail Fair.

	In the new version (5.3.11) it's not possible to define the Waypoint for VMC calculations purpose. Sail Fair.

	There is a real bug concerning WP update through nmea that is now fixed, I dont think you can do much about it apart waiting for the next release Speaking about the next release, I have heard that some of you are using SOL coast lines instead of qtVlm coast lines in qtVlm. We are ok to implement that "officially" in qtVlm but for that we need a link to these coasts files... Can someone provide a link?

	Our official coastlines are sent to the client in tiles (larger tiles of low resolution are used when zoomed out). If you want the official sailonline coastlines, you'll need to implement that part of the API. But since we don't really use other maps that GSHHS these days, the best option is probably to bypass the API completely and use the GSHHS maps directly. Sol uses the "h" and "i" resolution, depending on how large the race area is. http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/shorelines/gshhs.html

	Thanks for the link. qtVlm can displays tiles (or mbtiles), but in that case we want to have exact coastlines as polygons, to be able to route based on it.

Maryland to Alaska 2023
Welcome to this September edition of 2023 OCCH. This route was first sailed in 2020. At the time it was inspired by Matt Rutherford's single-handed Red Dot Expedition around the Americas in 2012, SOLer Renegade proposing a half-around from Maryland over the North into the Pacific and back through the Panama Canal, in 5 legs, 5 years later. Leg 2 across the North West Passage proved to be particularly challenging and so to create a proper Ocean Race, SRC combined Leg 2 with Leg 1 to give you a race of at least 4000nm from Maryland to Alaska, now to be sailed in our magnificent Archer 78.
