The NMEA sentences for waypoints only support the standard ASCII character set, and as a result, qtVlm is ignoring those that do not conform. A work around is to edit the race info xml file. Do the following.
1. Shut down AGL and qtVlm.
2. Open auth_raceinfo_1185.xml in the SOLGribxml folder with a text editor.
3. Look for the waypoint <name> lines with special characters e.g.

<waypoint>
<order>2</order>
<name>Villösan</name>

4. Replace the ö with and o e.g,

<waypoint>
<order>2</order>
<name>Villosan</name>

5. Repeat for all special characters in waypoint names.

6. Save the changes
7. Restart AGL and make sure Monitor Race Messages is not checked (or your changes will be overwritten)
8. Restart qtVlm and connect.
Version 3.1.3 is now available which fixes grib extents issue with the X2X race.

If you have set up AGL correctly in the past according to the install instructions, you should only have to download put AutoGribLoader 3 1 3.jar in the same folder as the old version (e.g. AutoGribLoader 3 1 2.jar), and then download and run AGVersion.bat. This will cause AG.bat to now use the correct version.

Both these files are in the root of the OneDrive folder link.
Version 3.2.0 is now available which has several enhancements and must be installed by all qtVlm users. The change allows qtVlm to filter out SOL AIS data and not send fake data to AISHUB.

If you have set up AGL correctly in the past according to the install instructions, you should only have to download put AutoGribLoader 3 2 0.jar in the same folder as the old version (e.g. AutoGribLoader 3 1 2.jar), and then download and run AGVersion.bat. This will cause AG.bat to now use the correct version.

Both these files are in the root of the OneDrive folder link.

The user manual has also been updated with the new functionality descriptions.
Thank you Andrew for the update. Just a question, the font size is smaller, there is a way to change it in the AGL settings? See the file.

EDIT: I've installed in a different computer and the font size is smaller as well

Hi Kipper.
Is it possible to turn off/on your own trace on the graphical path map?
Hi Kipper.
Is it possible to turn off/on your own trace on the graphical path map?
Not at this stage. Why the need?
I've released a new version (3.2.1) that remaps the extended ASCII character set to the standard character set recognised by NMEA. e.g. Æ will map to AE, ø will map to o and so on. Follow the link from the previous release to get the new one.

No need as such. It just would be nice to have the choice :-)

Seoul to Seoul TIMED 2022
In this TIMED race designed by NZL_Scotsman, you'll start at Incheon, sail around 34nm WNW through the Korean DMZ towards the island of Yongmae-do and leave it to port, before returning to Incheon. Luckily, there is no military presence to contend with in this SOL race, though there's still plenty of islands to watch out for and not BBQ on. And once back in Incheon, you can even RE-REGISTER HERE for another attempt. Fastest round trip wins!

San Francisco to New York 2022
Cornelius Vanderbilt, who made his money - that his descendants enjoyed to spend sailing and racing yachts - by recognizing that getting from the East Coast to the West Coast of the USA was best done by rail, would have been more than a little amused to see SOL organizing yacht races over the very route by water he made redundant. It's about 13,000 nautical miles, which compares with less than 3000 statute miles by train! Six years ago, the best SOLers managed to complete the passage from San Francisco to New York in around 36 days, sailing our much-used veteran ocean greyhound, the Super Maxi 100. Time to try again, this time on the VO70. If you aim for a SOG of 18kn, it'll only take you a month.
