Kipper
Thanks for coming back to me on this.

To your questions:
1)I am running a 64-bit Java (Version 8-241)
2)I am opening the AGL with the Terminal. Attached the command screen after AGL opens and clicking Apply

Lastly, I am also attaching a print of the screen I get when opening the DC Checker graphical interface. Just flat out gray!

BTW, your software is awesome. The more I get used to it the more I like it.

Thanks
Version 4.0.0 looks really good.

I had all sorts of problems initially but finally got it all sorted. 1st problem was I was using a 32bit instance of Java. Tried the latest 64 bit SDK but no joy. Updated the JRE (runtime environment) and it worked beautifully.

Thanks Kipper. Everyone will enjoy the updated version.
Hi Kipper,
Have loaded 4.0.0 and have following problem.
When converting DCs to Graphic the information at each point does not show Course, Speed TWA etc.
Ah, think I may understand now. My PC does not support OpenGL. That may be it. I can work out what each section of the graphic text means.

I tried Version 4.0.0 on the Mac. It works well other than the Graphic interface that on the new version, always come gray.

Going back to 3.2.3 that at least give me the graphics once in a while.

I have not been getting notifications in this thread, so apologies for no answers.
1. seeU, an exception is being thrown by the low level openGL binding that I use, and I have no idea why. Can you please copy the feedback from the shell, drop it into a file and post here. Secondly, try turning off the openGL engine (on the Parameters tab) and see if you get a different result.

2. Mul, version 4 simplified the DC text. There should be a legend in the bottom right corner to explain what it is. Both versions show the same text. Also, if you are getting the wind isotachs and barbs, openGL is working.
..... 1st problem was I was using a 32bit instance of Java.......
All, it is critical that you run a 64 bit version of Java as dtayls found out. I've posted some instructions on how to check and rectify if necessary.

I've fixed a few issues discovered today with the Capetown race in Version 4.0.0.0. Version 4.0.0.1 is here

I've speeded up the wind data refresh, fixed the out of bounds errors, added a right click drop down menu in the graphic window and fixed the error with reading the Wx update times.

Secondly, I've added some notes on how to check that you are using 64 bit Java. 32 bit is causing a few people some issues and problems.
New question.
QtVlm is only showing the integer of the TWS on boat instruments. i.e. If the TWS is 4.8 then display is 4.0. If TWS is 5.1 instrument is 5.0.
This does not seem to affect routing except it will show the difference as a correction.
Is the nmea in AGL passing only the integer of TWS or do you think that QtVlm is only reading the integer and is therefore a problem their end?

In Capetown, I'm seeing TWS of 2.6 in qt, AGL and the client. All the same.

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024
