Page: 1 2 Next

Hi all

Many of you know that SOLer Careka is sailing, with wife/family, in yacht Careka around the world. The group of yachts he is in company with are now seeking routing advice/help as follows:

QUOTE
Hey,all, we are a bunch of boats that will sail from St.Martin around 1may, and to Horta,Azores, does anyone like to send us weather, and where to sail, like a safe wr. Not trying to win a regatta 😂. And its nice to get a mail every day have some contact with the once on land. Only a mail with texst telling us what the wind will be like and the pos of the Lows and where they are moving. There will be boats from Norway,Danmark,Germany in the group. We will aim to sail fastes and safest route to Horta. Anyone like to help us, it is fun.

If you are one of our "routing SOLers" and feel you can help, then

(a) if you are on Facebook, please respond to Careka via the Sailonline Group post he has made there.

(b) if you are not on Facebook, please email me at joanne@sailonline.org with your email address so I can put you in touch with Careka.

Here is the blog of Lagoon 380 Careka

and here is the tracker that gives (hourly) current position Careka

Hope someone can help!

:-)

Viva Joanne and all.

Concerning careka'ss trip, I need to know Polars from all the boats in the fleet or, from the slowest one and the fastest.

Can you pls make the bridge as I don't have e-mail/s to contact our SOL brother Careka?

Need to know also some details about the geo coordinates for the boat fix the garmin tool from careka generates.

Viva All,

Concerning the Lagoon 380 I've managed to got a Polar file for the boat.
Tested in qT and works fine for routing.

Wind and Currents GRIBS setups also done.

Just need to know the already asked questions.

Do it today.
This is not a regatta, but a safe sailing to awoyd bad weather. There is no a Bavaria 47, 39, 40, Janneau 42, pogo, a 62oneoff, lagoon380.
But we will adjust the speed so we will sail like a groupe in the beginning,
We sailed with the 62 onoff on our way over and we did the go for speed the first 2 days, and we sailed nearly the same, if winds got low the 62 pulled away, but as soon as we had 15 knots or more we pulled away.
Do it today.

Sailonline’s 15th Birthday Balloon Race
Sailonline offers a huge variety of boats to sail in. One of the more unusual ones has got to be SOL's Balloon, which was polarized by past SOLmaster 76Trombones. Notably, the SOL Balloon will actually ‘sail’ in other directions other than straight downwind, although it will not 'sail' over land or beyond a 'beam reach'. Like in 2013 and 2018, we will be taking the Balloon across the Atlantic from St. John's and 'land' it in the sea off the Cliffs of Moher.
