Hi everyone

I'm Niels aka Xtase295
I'm danish, 45 Years of age, and my home port is Middelfart, at the centre of Denmark
I've been sailing all kinds of boats since the age of 13. My heart lies with X-Yachts, and all my own boats have been X-Yacht's, starting with X-79, and now X-362.
Racing experience:
Granada 24, H-Boat, Ylva, Bianca 101 "Afrodite", X-79, X102, X-99, X-362, Luffe 4004, DS Matchracer 37, Scancap 99
Cruising experience:
All the above and.....

Hei all

Simo aka Smo 41yr. Helsinki, proud to be finnish. Sailed Finn-dinghy as young, club races with small boat. Inferno 26 and ORCi offshore and track with Tempo 28, OD with X-99 and First 31.7 also Suursaari race. And Archipelago races with Tempo 28. And some cruising with some other boats. Even rigged rowing boat at summercottage to sail. And sea kayaking of course lately more. I live near New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Ground zero for Katrina and the BP oil spill :D

I started sailing in college and went straight to Windsurfers. I sailed 470s for a few years, then had kids. Now sail dinghies and crewed on a Corsair tri for a while. I try to avoid the big keel boats these days :)

I also build and race IOMs and Victoria model sailboats and have learned much since i started sailing at SOL!

Hi,

My name is Vincent, 41, on FR Petit Sale
2 homeports in Brittany (France), Douarnenez and St Malo.
No competitions. Not so fond of cruising despite some sailing in USA / Canada / Australia / Scotland / England / Spain / Portugal.
Prefer coast sailing with dinghies. Now on 505, and little 5m classic dinghies, red sails, 60 years old... Family sailing !

Hej!

Magnus (alias number1), male, 52 with wife and two kids.
Norwegian, sailing falsely under a Swedish flag because I always lived in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Raced Swedish two man dinghy Trissjolle from 15 to 25, windsurfing from 20-30 and Trissjolle again from 45.
Home port or rather beach is Frillesås 50 km south where we have a summer cottage.

Sailing Experience: dinghy racing as a youngster and now restoring a National 12 to race with my son next year. Otherwise, 2/3 long weekends in the year sailing round West Coast of Scotland...

Hi All. Just found this site and LOVE IT! Probably have to quit my job to be able to virtual sail more! Grew up sailing Stars, Lightning, Snipes. Did my first Annapolis-Bermuda at 14. Lots of offshore deliveries. I peaked my career with the J-Class beauty SHAMROCK V before going back to med school. All good stuff. Looking forward to being on this site frequently this winter.

Well, this is me... Jepsom ;)

39 years young. Been on the waters since I was a small kid, but not allways sailracing. From 18-19y I mostly sailed archipelagoraces and oceanracing with X-95 and Express. This year I´m sailing on a X-35. This SOL-stuff is like a drug...

Welcome to Sailonline’s first partnership with the City of Livorno, in cooperation with the local yacht clubs and the Italian Navy, to offer you the online opportunity to race the Regata dell’Accademia Navale. 630nm in length, starting and finishing in Livorno, the race takes you the length and breadth of the Tyrrhenian Sea via Porto Cervo and Capri. Transat à Deux 2025

Above you see a single-handed sailor semi-foiling his Beneteau Figaro III to the horizon. It is in fact Ireland’s Sailor of the Year and the overall winner of last year’s Solitaire du Figaro, Tom Dolan. Somehow, we got our hands on a polar for the Class, and rather than trying to surreptitiously track Tom and his mates in the 2025 edition of the Solitaire, sailing rather-short, single-handed legs across the Celtic Sea and Biscay, we thought we’d see how our virtual craft would fare on the Class’s double-handed 3900nm Trans-Atlantic, from somewhere in Brittanny to somewhere in the Caribbean via somewhere in the Canaries. Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Toamasina to Baia de l'Oiseau


You may recall that when last we visited Madagascar in the company of Sinbad, the Sultan commanded our intrepid inspirator to seek out fabled islands where in Summer the sun barely set. We did and we returned but the Sultan wasn’t happy with Sinbad’s report, so here we go again, now by SOL Balloon instead of sailing vessel. Expect to be in the air for at least 2100nm and depending on how the wind brings us, anything between two weeks and two months before we shall descend at the Sultan’s given coordinates!

Melbourne Osaka Cup Double-Handed Yacht Race 2025

Welcome once again to what these days is Sailonline’s almost annual virtual Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. In real life, this double-handed 5500 nm race between these two sister cities, one deep in the southern hemisphere, the other high in the northern hemisphere, is run every four to five years, and this year is such a year. So, this year’s online version is in sync with the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2025 organised by the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV), and the Sandringham (SYC) and Osaka Hokko (OHYC) yacht clubs. We’ll be racing the well-known First 40, a popular size of boat which should be a good match for many of the boats entered in the real race. With the doldrums unavoidably lying across our course, you can expect to be at virtual sea for at least a month!
