Actually,
The Apocalypse did occur,
The Rapture happened,
But I got left behind,
With all the rest of us.

--:for entry into the 'Deep Philosophical Thoughts Section'.
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
The fingers are drumming,
Maybe some strumming.
For the feel of a mouse,
Like a wheelhouse,
("Send Command", up 'n' coming !)

'Tis fine on the shore,
We still yearn for more.
But if it were known,
Few need be shown -
How long, to the start of leg 4?
Oh, me father was the keeper of the Eddystone Light'
'E slept with a mermaid one fine night,
The fruits of the un-i-on, they were three,
A porpoise and a pelican and then came me.
Yo-Ho-Ho, let the wind blow free,
Oh, for a life on the roving sea.

Dredged up from a long ago Navy memory of singing around the Wardroom piano in a drunken state....
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
This was by 76Trombones in the chat-I'm transferring it here in case he's too shy to do it himself..

Whoops, that didn't work as intended!!!

Try again:-

In SOL racing the goal is to pilot
your boat 'round each mark (watch that islet).
So look out up ahead,
and aim for the red.
(in beta, you'd go for the violet)

Thats better!

Wonderful and totally - well, limericky. Thanks Rod. Thanks 76Trombones.
OUTSTANDING!!
Grrr...

That be me, The Pirate!
Inspired by Cheeks' commitment to SOL:

On accusation they're fanatic,
Solers might draw a nice schematic.
That precedes divorce?
Nay, our nat'ral recourse
Iis being so dang charismatic.

With an aside: "We're cultured, we can steer, we more or less know which way the wind blows... we're Irresistible!"
Routing does not equal superpowers.
Before your trust in NOAA sours...
The boats in the Northeast
though way out front:at least
They lead only by 24 hours...

If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
When travelling you might look for wifi
that's free and not too slow thus whereby:
You'd sail wake a foaming!
So long's you're not roaming...
In which case the the bill'd make your eyes cry.

Ditto to above..
We potentially have a new 21st Century Shakespeare, here!!!
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.

Flight of the Godwit - Wellington to Hegura 2024

Bar-tailed godwits can fly about 6500 nm without resting - further than any other known bird. They fly at about 32 knots, which means this 5000 nm leg would be done in a week. We won't be able to accomplish that, although we will sail our fast Maxi trimaran. This race is the first of three legs reflecting the migration routes of the bird, and the third leg of the 2024 Ocean Race Championship. The voyage promises to be not only a test of skill and strategy but an immersive experience in the beauty of the archipelagos of the western Pacific. Join us as we push the boundaries of seafaring prowess on this epic adventure. Let's fly like a godwit!
