Could it be that you are behind a Proxy of some sort or a company network? Sounds like there is another place where the old client is still active for IE to load.
I am a ex-admin of SOL who joins in from time to time.
...forgot. I would prefer numbered steps of the zoom. With 154 zoom steps I don´t know how much I have zoomed... and then I don´t know how long the next boat jump will be close to an island or tacking in front of a boat. :(
That is partly what the scale indicator is for :)
And it wasnt really designed as 'X steps' of zoom, just to change zoom % as you get closer in - I never even counted number of clicks needed to traverse full range of zoom... I dont imagine it is something needs doing very often, going from as far out as possible to all the was in... But when you next race around lots of islands, it is very good to have such control over exact zoom level ;-)

I cant get the new user interface to work on IE. I have it working fine on firefox. I have done all the usual empting, so not really sure why!!
Everything else is fine with the game on IE. Just the same as it was before.
Are you trying to run the client from the same machine in the 2 different Browsers, or are they on 2 separate machines on different network connections?

Its on my laptop at home.Last night I logged on with IE as I have aleays done, But the new interface doesnt work so I tried with firefox ans chrome which is all ok!
Perhaps take a look here: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/delcache.htm

In particular scroll down to 'Completely Deleting the Temporary Internet Files and index.dat' - it seems this index file is NOT deleted if you go through the Internet Options control panel applet...

A reboot is also required to delete/rebuild this index...

1. Scale indicator??? Where?
Aaah.... got it! Lower right corner?

I do it several times before I round an island, so 154 steps are too many I think.
Keep up the good work but its good to relax & enjoy what you have already accomplished

Africa by Sea - Abidjan to Swakopmund

Our exploration of Africa by Sea continues. Next, it’s off to Swakopmund, on the water’s edge of the Kalahari desert. It’s a wind-blasted coast, and a venue of choice for those seeking to set wind-powered speed records. More likely than not, we’ll have to beat into it in our Steinlager II, to finally find some shelter behind the walls of Platz am Meer where there is a marina of sorts. Only 2200nm!

Newport to Annapolis 2025

The Newport to Annapolis race, first held in 1947, is one of the most historic and well-known US East Coast blue water races. Linking two seaports dating from the US nation's birth, Annapolis and Newport, the race contrasts the country's largest estuary, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Since 1969, the route has run from Annapolis through the Chesapeake Bay to Newport. The SOLers will sail 470nm in their Carkeek40s in the original direction from Newport to Annapolis, including the Chesapeake, which is such a daunting challenge that the 1997–98 Whitbread Round the World Race for the Volvo Trophy added it to the course, as did the Volvo Ocean Race in 2002 and 2006.

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Toamasina to Baia de l'Oiseau

You may recall that when last we visited Madagascar in the company of Sinbad, the Sultan commanded our intrepid inspirator to seek out fabled islands where in Summer the sun barely set. We did and we returned but the Sultan wasn’t happy with Sinbad’s report, so here we go again, now by SOL Balloon instead of sailing vessel. Expect to be in the air for at least 2100nm and depending on how the wind brings us, anything between two weeks and two months before we shall descend at the Sultan’s given coordinates!
