No we need Yellow and Green jerseys for the other classifications, and probably another dozen to boot...

Gilles have we been South of Antarctic circle? I remember 64 maybe, but pretty sure I'm shy of 66° 33′ 44″ :-D Those meridian crossings are going to need work as well!

I think there's a Panama transit in the proposed races queue.

Nothing automatic folks - just thought it might be a fun diversion.
The only race to the Arctic or Antarctic that I can recall was a race to Spitsbergen.

The only race that was close to passing the Panama Canal was the Route of Gold races a couple of years ago. One leg we raced from NY to the Caribbean side of Panama. The next leg was from Panama to SF. That was a great race, of course we portaged across as there was no canal on our chart at the time.

This brings up a question. If we have the canals, and the Amazon, and the St Lawrence...why not the Sacramento River Delta. There are two deep water ports on that river, Sacramento and Stockton. Also some great sailing races are held on the river.
And why not the Columbia which is navigable to Idaho?
Fun idea!
Just a couple of questions:
Order of the Spanish Main: "Complete" Carribean. What does "Complete" mean? We have done some some Carribean races in the past.
Emerald Shellback: Equator Crossing at prime meridian. Margins to the prime meridian? limits?
Golden Shellback: Equator crossing at 180th meridian. Same question as above... it's a big ocean...:)
A wonderfull idea, 76.

Maybe the badges can be placed in our profiles?

That's all I could think to do with them! ;)

For the Caribbean it's up to you. A combination of races or one big one? Miami-Kingstown probably qualifies, and the Ron Cazar? The Caribbean Sprint needs some help form a couple of other races.

The profile pics are 150x150 pixels, so even if you have a smaller one, or one with whitespace, if you make a 150-wide "white" pic with the badges included they show up nicely. No easier/automatic way to do it for now. Maybe AGage will whip us up a "SOL badge avatar generator"? There's probably a gold star in it!

My understanding of the meridian shellback club is that you really do have to pass *through* the critical points.
How about on the leaderboard. Most races we do, we are all sailing the SAME boat. Replace that column with BADGES.

Further, IN BOATS TAB, add another column so that they show up if the BOAT area is enlarged.

In CHAT, make extra columns for both POSITION (1st 2nd 3rd etc not Lat/Long) and another column for BADGES

At the same time, give CHAT an option to be sorted LATEST on "TOP" or "BOTTOM", as the actress said to the Bishop. LOL.

If it breaks, it's not strong enough!
Avatar auto-badge app (windows only sorry). Choose a suitably sized pic, select the badges you want to apply. The prog copies the Avatar to clipboard, which you can then paste into your image editor to save.

If you just want badges with no other pic that's an option too.

Any reason the Week Championship is left out?

But very nice app!
1 suggestion - perhaps re-order them?
SYC Champs/Top10 first, then other race badges like 25 consecutive, then geographical?

Edit: I think you can surely include Service yourself 76T...

I help develop the client interface for the best online ocean racing sim there is... __/)/)_/)__
76T.... Brilliant stuff!
Agree with AGage, you should include the Service Badge in your livery.

Well Done!!

Sinbad Braves the Bay of Bengal 2023
“Sinbad, you sorry sailor, why have you not told me of this great sea, this giant bay, stretching hundreds of thousands of qasbah east of Al-Hindi to fabled lands where tea and rice and rubber is abundant?” and Sinbad replied “Ahh, umm, shall I go have a look. May I take the Judel Vrolijk 62 again, it’s going to be a long voyage, perhaps a million and one half qasbah (c 3000nm)? I’ll start in Chittagong and follow the coast to the southern tip of the Hindus’ land, round Serendip, head east into the vastness of the seas, and if I’m lucky (no pun intended, oh Mighty One) I shall find land again and then head north and see where I end up”. “Fair winds, Sinbad”, said the Sultan.

Maryland to Alaska 2023
Welcome to this September edition of 2023 OCCH. This route was first sailed in 2020. At the time it was inspired by Matt Rutherford's single-handed Red Dot Expedition around the Americas in 2012, SOLer Renegade proposing a half-around from Maryland over the North into the Pacific and back through the Panama Canal, in 5 legs, 5 years later. Leg 2 across the North West Passage proved to be particularly challenging and so to create a proper Ocean Race, SRC combined Leg 2 with Leg 1 to give you a race of at least 4000nm from Maryland to Alaska, now to be sailed in our magnificent Archer 78.
