	Yes.. the race is starting on Tuesday, 25 September @2200utc which equates to Wednesday, 26 September @0730 in Adelaide, S Australia. Aaron' birthday was 26 September. GOTTIT - just spotted that Tyger had said Wed 25th... THANKS A2R!!!! --- Last Edited by RainbowChaser at 2012-09-22 18:55:31 ---

I must say how much I have, on the one hand, enjoyed putting the series together but on the other hand wishing that I never had to do so in the first place. I haven't been a SOLer for long but my enthusiasm for SOL is down to 3 factors - RC's boundless energy in keeping everything running, AGage's generosity towards me when I first joined and everyone in the SOL community. I hope everyone in the SOL community is looking forward to the A3 Series as much as I am. Lets get on with the A3 - AGage's Around Australia Series. 	There's been a bit of discussion in chat about the gap between races and I think we just need to be flexible - depending on the winds we will finish some legs quicker than anticipated, some slower. How about, roughly, 10 days to two weeks from time winner crosses the line before the start of the next one? This allows those who are slower-on-course to actually complete without being shut out of racing too soon. What do you all think?

	I'm probably least qualified to say anything, as I'm a total newbie here. But 10 day to 2 week break seems really long considering that the legs look quite short. I missed the start by a day but will be done in a few hours. My 2 cents. Great to be here BTW.

	Glad to have you aboard Dana1. Welcome to SOL. The gaps between the legs have been discussed over some time now and as things go this is about what is considered to be a 'Happy medium'. Like Abe Lincoln used to say... "You can please some of the people... yada yada yada..." Hope your SOL adventure will be permanent. Cheers. 	I should clarify - the idea of the "roughly one a month" is to have us finishing back in Adelaide near to the time of Aaron's 1st anniversary. I think if we make the legs a bit of a moveable feast (as stated) we should accomplish this Dana1 - Welcome to SOL and thank you for your input. If you have a look at The Race Calendar Forum you will find most upcoming races in its various threads. Due to vagaries of weather etc these can change but not usually by much! 	Hi, Thank you for the clarifications. I think it is a great idea to time the end of the race for your friends memory. Absolutely no problem with this. Unfortunately I did not have the chance to get to know Aaron. Will be on future races.

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024

After a superlong RTW-leg3 (27 days), we have had a month to recover, and maintain our boat, in order to continue our around the world race. Leg 4, even longer than the previous, takes us from California to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia. No waypoints, even "the Ditch" is an option, but maybe a bit too much of a treat. With 6300 nm to go, the estimated duration of this race 29 days. This course is also the August edition of our ocean race championship.
