thanks for all information on the revised SOL player. I have missed this complete.

Now I found the manual for the Beta and with a quick screening saw some very interesting improvements. I am now sailing onthe Lake and hope to apply the new features.
I will adjust in a positive way my comparison report but this weekend is a little busy with Vendee start and the normal ongoing stuff.
fair winds and I did rate SOL already 2nd in my ranking based on the older player.

I played SOL some year back, I made the comparison somewhere in June2012.
I will make the changes you indicated, as the development of SOL has continued, maybe sail a race as then you learn the features the best.

No SOL is not the only site where players can make their own races or cruises. It happens a lot in LiveSkipper; the LS challenges are continuous available and allow groups to start in their own time and decide their own route. I have also in VORG2012 participated in alternative routes, but that lastest only as long as a leg lasted. In VR, I understand that groups of players also organise their own races/ cruises. So it seems that there is a need for some own organisation of race/ or cruises by players.
Thanks for your comments that can only improve my comparison and as volonteers, I am even more impressed by your virtual SOL player. ard.

Neuroman, I like to set up a discussion on your statement "SOL is always the best". I have done a comparison of 4 virtual sailing games, SOL among them and SOL has some positive points as other games have. I noticed that the VendeeGlobe will start soon, 10th November.
I don't see anything like it in the SOL November calender.

Does SOL has a plan for a similar sailing race around the globe?

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024

After a superlong RTW-leg3 (27 days), we have had a month to recover, and maintain our boat, in order to continue our around the world race. Leg 4, even longer than the previous, takes us from California to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia. No waypoints, even "the Ditch" is an option, but maybe a bit too much of a treat. With 6300 nm to go, the estimated duration of this race 29 days. This course is also the August edition of our ocean race championship.
