Well it happened again. I rebooted my computer and it started!!!

Again. I am at my wits end! Yesterday everything was working fine. Today no connection between SOL and QT. Failed to connect to TCP Host 192.168.4.26 Port 5010. I have been at it for 8 hrs. My very experienced techie for over an hr. Turned off all the firewalls. Downloaded latest version of Java 10/20/2020 and Qt 5.9-12. Brainaid Proxy is a security exception in both Java and my security software. Proxy opens and starts. Multiple ports tried. Qt settings checked. See above - once before it stopped during the Carib Race, no solution and then it started up again on its own!! I may be too frustrated to do the PIC without Qt! I have tired myself out to be able to handle 20+ hrs of SOMP's in what looks like a very tricky race of continuous tacking.

Tx Vibex for your advice on WX Route updates vs creating a new Route. Unfortunately I did not see it until after the Carib Rum Run Race. You will see from my Report on that Race that I found out for myself during the Race. I might have done better than 9th if I had seen your advice earlier!!

If you read my Carib Rum Run 2020 Report you will see how I am making early use of Qt. Can I encourage a discussion lead by those who know better on Qt Settings and how they impact results - Boat Settings/Tacks & Gybes, Route Settings-Best Performance vs Best Accuracy, Edit Route - Wind/Polar Corrections.

Back working!!!! You tell me. It started just like it stopped!!!

As a result of not being given an opportunity to accept the Java risk I now cannot login on the Proxy.

NMEA connection lost during the Carib Rum Race. Message is "Failed to connect to TCP Host 192.168.4.26 using Port 5010.Tried changing ports. Opened and closed QtVLM, BrainAid, Closed and opened Proxy. Checked my security software BitDefender. Finally shut everything down rebooted my computer. Reopened everything. Now when proxy is opened Java quickly jumps past risk approval and does not open it for me to approve. Proxy cannot be started. So the problem seems to be Java related. Any ideas out there? I would hate to not be able to continue the Carib Race. I do have a Qt Route to the Bacardi Pick-Up revised after 9/14 UTC 2223 WX with the DC's uploaded.

Satori is a relative newcomer to SOL and I am documenting what I am learning from generous SOLers. Attached are my introductory instruction notes with screen prints in PDF format for “Editing Route With New Weather Report and Uploading Resulting New Delayed Commands to SOL”.

N2B was my 1st SOL. What GRIB file will be used in Mackinac? Do seasoned SYC use routing software? Is there a 101 on using DC's accurately and effectively?

SOL's Bermuda Triangle TIMED Race 2023
Inspired by the America’s Cup racing in Bermuda, this is a fun triangular course of 90nm, which we originally raced with psail and bonkhoot’s collaborative polar for the AC72 foiling catamaran. Having tried the course in the more pedestrian Open 60 in 2021, this year we return to the AC72, in fact to the MODIFIED AC72v2, modified to remove the inconsistencies that obtained from the original interpolation of the limited data issued by the AC 2003 Principal Race Officer in connection with penalties determination. This is a TIMED race, which means you get multiple chances to try out the ramifications of the revisions. Be careful though, the polar remains a handling challenge with major stall-out potential!
